It would be so simple..

Nokia acquired Symbian willing to opensource it.
Openmoko is readying the open phone.
Now I know Apple will never listen to this,
but with a simple move Apple could wipe all
competitors off the smartphone scene.
One of my favourite quotes is:
"Freedom is not 'choosing between black and white',
but to avoid such predetermined choice."
There are only a few slight adjustments to
Apple's plans needed to own the market.
Too bad they don't really seem
interested to listen.

  1. aple wants to have as much control over the iphone osX as possible...

it's a compromise between iphone security and openness to the developers... as long as we can hack the iphone/ipod touch and run3rd party apps i don't really care!

if apple would close all loopholes i would get really pissed... but as long as you (zibri) and others can manage to hack the iphone osX, and as long as there's no viruses out there i'm also fine with it...

  3. Hey guys, in Australia the mobile phone companies are not allowed to keep your phone locked to a network ONCE YOU REQUEST TO UNLOCK! :)

I believe the iPhone will be made available for purchase "outright" (free from contracts) on july 11. Yippee!

    Hey Zibri-

    YOU ROCK!!!

    Cheers,

    Pez

  5. Foolishly I decided to upgrade my iphone to v2. Now it's not working. I have spent hours trying to bring back my beloved from the dead. Ziphone v3 is not working. Is there anyway you can put a link to older versions?
I have donated once to you as you are the man.
    Thanks

  6. I need some help guys... I hooked up my iPhone to ZiPhone 3.0 and plugged into the USB port and selected the option "One Click Actions" and the progress log states: Checking ZiPhone integrity i386... Searching for iPhone....

But it never finds my phone after being hooked up for 20+ minutes.. I even rebooted my MacPro and loaded the software back up and it still doesn't recognize the phone being there. Any help would be appreciated!!!

  8. although you asked me not to beg you to release the new ziphone , i will. that is because a lately upraded my iphone 1.1.4. to 1.2 and itunes says that my current sim card isn't accepted(i am from romania). i have used ziphone to upgrade my iphone to 1.1.4. but no i have no alternatives. i have to wait , and i am sure you are going to do a good job.
    thanks a lot!:D

  9. Just unlocked my iTouch - it was a lot easier than I had imagined. -and comforting to see a familiar ssh login. Great job with this app!

One question, is there any way to use the usb cable when I don't have access to my wireless access point?
